“I am extremely pleased to welcome George to the Judson Center family,” said President & CEO Lenora Hardy-Foster. “He is passionate about the importance of family and has a strong background in promoting innovative strategies that strengthen the outcomes of our most vulnerable children. George’s talents and experience are a major asset for the life-changing work we do here at Judson Center.”

Winn has more than 30 years of experience in the child welfare field, and he is active in a variety of diversity, advocacy, and child and family initiatives throughout Michigan.

Prior to joining Judson Center, Winn was Chief Operating Officer at The Children’s Center where he led fatherhood initiatives; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts; and the human resources, operations, information technology, campus operations, behavioral health, and child welfare teams during his tenure.

“I am looking forward to this next chapter in my ongoing commitment to helping children and families thrive in Southeast Michigan,” said Winn. “It has been my mission throughout my career to advocate for children and families and address the issues that hinder their ability to live successful, productive lives. Judson Center has been providing comprehensive child and family services for nearly 100 years. The agency is a perfect fit for my desire to create brighter futures for our children.”

Winn, a native Detroiter, graduated from Cody High School where he was an outstanding scholar and athlete. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in science from St. Mary’s College in Orchard Lake, Michigan and a master’s degree in social work from Wayne State University.

Winn is a 2013 recipient of the Michigan Chronicle Men of Excellence Award, which celebrates men who personify the exemplary qualities of respect, responsibility, passion, brotherhood and leadership. He has served on the boards of several organizations including Neighborhood Legal Services of Michigan and Human Service Association Workers Compensation Fund.

Winn and his wife, Verita, are the proud parents of three adult sons. The couple attend Word of Faith Christian Center, and Winn is active as a mentor and role model for young men in the community.
