We See the Good in Every Family!

Our programs take a family-centered, strengths-based approach to preservation, allowing us to build trust and reach families in their homes when they need support the most. Parenting is hard and important work and when we focus on the good that can be found within every family, together we build a brighter future!

Families Together Building Solutions

The Families Together Building Solutions (FTBS) program aims to assist families in leveraging their strengths to enhance their safety and address obstacles, ultimately preventing the need to place their children outside of the home.

This 90-day program is tailored for families affected by abuse or neglect at home. It focuses on empowering families to find techniques that create a safe and peaceful environment. The program model includes the Families Together Building Solutions-Pathways to Potential contract, which delivers services through potential referrals from DHHS success coaches working in community schools.

The FTBS program is funded by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and operates on a contract basis. Referrals come directly from the Department of Health and Human Services through Children’s Protective Services or School Success Coaches in Detroit Public Schools in Wayne County.

The impact of these programs is undeniable. According to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, 12 months after completing FTBS program requirements, 85 percent of families served remained safely together with no foster care placements required.
