Judson Center Celebrates 100 Years with New “Where Care Is An Art” Campaign & Centennial Challenge

Non-profit human services agency plans a year of anniversary-themed events

Farmington Hills, MI – Judson Center is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year with the launch of an innovative awareness campaign that brings the stories of the human services agency’s unwavering care to life through works of art.

The “Where Care Is An Art” campaign paired talented local artists with Judson Center clients to produce pieces of art that illustrate the clients’ journey from dealing with challenges to receiving life-changing services at Judson Center that resulted in encouraging outcomes.

“We are proud to have grown our footprint in Southeast Michigan over the past century to provide excellent care in the areas of autism, mental and behavioral health, primary healthcare, disabilities, foster care, adoption, and mentoring, ” said Judson Center President & CEO Lenora Hardy-Foster. “The new campaign truly depicts the passionate commitment of our staff and the powerful transformations that we witness among the children, adults and families we serve at Judson Center on a daily basis. Sometimes, words alone are not enough to describe the depth of care they receive and the intensity of change they experience.”

Judson Center’s partner on the “Where Care Is An Art” project is Doner Detroit, who designed the campaign after gaining a deeper understanding of Judson Center’s services and clients.

“We knew right away that we had the opportunity to go beyond expressing that care in traditional marketing,” said Doner Chief Operating Officer Craig Conrad. “We know art, as it surpasses boundaries and evokes emotion, was the perfect way to crystalize these stories for Judson Center’s centennial celebration.”

The 10 pieces of art created for the “Where Care Is An Art” project will be on exhibit at various venues throughout the year. Known as The Museum of Care, the traveling interactive display debuted over the 2023 holiday season at Detroit’s Scarab Club. The clients’ inspirational and emotional stories, along with the unique artwork, can be found at https://care.judsoncenter.org.

Additionally, Judson Center has launched a Centennial Challenge in recognition of its milestone anniversary.  Supporters are being asked to share the “Where Care Is An Art” video with 10 friends and invite each of them to donate $10 in honor of the agency’s 10 decades of care.

“It’s a relatively small ask, but the money raised will go a long way toward funding the continuation and expansion of our in-demand services while spreading awareness of  our 100 years of consistent care in the community,” said Judson Center Chief Development Officer Scott Trudell. “We’re also proudly commemorating a century of unwavering care through a year-long journey of reflection and celebration, culminating with the “A Night to Embrace” Centennial Gala on November 1st at The Henry in Dearborn.”
