Judson Center and Child Safe Michigan to Hold Pickleball Tournament to Raise Money for Children and Families

Farmington Hills, MI – It’s one of the fastest growing sports in the country, and pickleball enthusiasts are invited to join non-profit human services agency Judson Center and its affiliate Child Safe Michigan for a day of fun, food and friendly competition for a good cause.

Judson Center’s second annual Pickleball Tournament and BBQ Party takes place on Monday, July 29 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Tam-O-Shanter Country Club, 5051 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield.

“We launched the tournament last year because we saw how much the game had grown in popularity and it sounded like a fun time for everyone,” said Judson Center President & CEO Lenora Hardy-Foster.  “Of course, attendees also will be making a huge difference in the lives of children who have experienced abuse, neglect and trauma. The event benefits Child Safe’s adoption, foster care and mentoring programs, which provide these children with safe, nurturing homes and hope for the future. The care and well-being of children have been our focus at Judson Center for the past 100 years.”

In addition to the pickleball tournament, guests will enjoy food, drinks, a silent auction and raffle, and entertainment. Spectator tickets are still available at www.childsafemichigan.org/pickleball or by contacting Erica Sanders at 248.554.6435 or [email protected].

The event’s presenting sponsor is Edward C. Levy Company based in Dearborn. The committee co-chairs for the pickleball tournament are Child Safe Board Members Marisa Ruby and E. Elizabeth Curnutte.

“Every child in our community is important, and we have a special obligation to those who do not have a safe place to call home,” said Ruby. “We’re excited to bring our community together to support a great cause. Plus, what’s better than good drinks, good food, and a little friendly pickleball?”
